Text Box: “Hi, guy, what are you doing in Penn State University?” This is a frequently asked question from my friends and peoples concerned me. Well, my specialty is experimental condensed matter physics, and my job in Penn State is doing research in a field nowadays called “nanoscale science”. This is an interdisciplinary field merging physics, materials science, chemistry and engineering.
With the progressive miniaturization of electronic devices, there is now a need to study the structural and electrical properties of nanometer scale materials. My work is focused on the fabrication, characterization and physical properties of various one-dimensional (1D) nanowires (i.e., superconducting nanowires, metallic and semiconducting nanowires). Usually, materials in a confined geometry show some new and novel phenomena compared with their bulk materials. This is an amazing field but with much challenge.
It will be my great pleasure if you can get some useful information from my homepage.
